Idea to SASS, a non-heros journey
This is a talk about making things happen, actually bringing that thing you thought about and poked with a stick for a while and then left abandoned on some street corner … bringing that thing back to life, finishing it and getting it out there! This is no inspirational tale filled with hand-wavey prose, this this a story of grit and determination, of minimizing risk and doing the work. A path, a plan, and maybe just a sprinkling of hopefulness.
In this talk we’ll talk about breaking down your idea into manageable bits, “killing your babies” as the saying goes until it is the Minimalist of Minimum Viable Products it can possibly be, then getting down to the hard graft of making it happen. Organizing, setting goals, building a mission statement and marketing plan. Having a fall back, paying the bills and making it a business, not an obsession. I will lay out the concrete steps from idea > incubation > MVP > development > deployment > marketing, highlighting tools, tricks and strategies for not driving yourself insane in the process, and not losing the confidence or excitement you had that very first day you thought of it.
